'Murder at the Vicarage' Play Reading,  20th February 2010

Annual General Meeting,  31st March 2010

        Murder at the Vicarage

A reading of classic murder mystery by Agatha Christie

Taking place at The Brewery Barn, North Street, Norton St Philip

                      Saturday 20th February, 2010 from 2:30 to 5:00pm

Come and join the Philips Norton Players for a leisurely afternoon of tea, buscuits and good company as we read the 'Murder at the Vicarage' by Agatha Christie. Everyone  attending will take part in the reading but as this is not a performance there are no rehearsals and no lines to learn! We are borrowing a number of copies of the play so you have nothing to bring but yourself. Unfortunately with the limited space and number of copies of the play we can only have twelve participants so please book early by either calling (01373) 834226 or emailing murder@pnplayers.org.uk. Cost is £3 for members, which covers the refreshments and the cost of hiring copies of the play. Non-members can take part for an additional fee of £1, subject to places being available.

Apologies to those expecting our February Play Reading to be 'Medea' by Euripides but the translations we received from the library were over 100 years old and it was felt the style of english would complicate the afternoon.

Annual General Meeting

This year the AGM will be taking place on 31st March 2010 at 7:30pm in the Palairet Hall of Norton St. Philip. Everyone is welcome to attend and please don't be put off by thinking it's just a boring old procedural meeting... It isn't! The real meeting doesn't actually starts until 8pm, so we have plenty of time for a chat and a glass or two of wine beforehand!

The AGM marks the start of the new year for the Players and the point where we elect new members to the Committee, to replace those finishing their two-year term. So if you would like to stand for the Committee, or nominate someone who you know would like to, then the AGM is the place to be. But it is also an important venue for openly discussing what the Players have done during the past year, both good and bad, and talking about our plans for the year ahead. So the AGM gives you the perfect opportunity to express you thoughts and input your ideas in the presence of the new Committee that will carry them forward.

Don't forget that the Players is your society, and one that certainly adds to the community spirit within our village, so why not come along and help shape the things we do for one and all.
